Continuing our excellence in education.
Welcome to the Thomas Nelson Community College website for reaffirmation of accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). The website will provide a location for posting information and updates about the reaffirmation process. It will also serve as an electronic repository for various documents and reports that show our compliance with the SACSCOC Principles of Accreditation.
The reaffirmation process gives us the opportunity to review in depth the operation of the College in relation to the standards expected of any institution of higher education. We do so not just with the intent to demonstrate compliance with requirements but also with the resolve to re-commit ourselves to excellence in all of our programs and services.
At the heart of SACSCOC accreditation is Institutional Effectiveness—the commitment of the College to identify outcomes for all its educational programs and its administrative and support services, to assess how well we perform in relation to those outcomes, and to use the results for continuous improvement. The faculty and staff of Thomas Nelson have embraced the principles and practices of Institutional Effectiveness because doing so helps us carry out our comprehensive mission in the most effective way.
We take great pride in preparing the two major documents required in the reaffirmation process—the Compliance Certification and the Quality Enhancement Plan—and we look forward to broad-based involvement of the college community in all aspects of this critical effort.
