Blackboard

What is Blackboard?
Blackboard is an online learning environment that your instructor customizes to make materials for your class available on the Web. Instructors may use Blackboard to post online quizzes, give assignments, make lecture notes available, record your grades online, post links to related Web sites, maintain a course calendar, distribute announcements, and much more. Blackboard has a number of communication tools for interacting with your instructor and classmates, including a discussion board and a live chat feature, as well as email and file exchange.

What is MyTNCC?
MyTNCC provides a common point of entry to access Blackboard, Student Email, and academic information via our Student Information System.

What do I need to access course materials online?
A computer with:

  • an Internet connection
  • a Web browser that supports frames and Java, preferably either Internet Explorer 5.5 or later or Mozilla Foxfire.
    NOTE: Mac OS 10.3 (Panther) users should use Netscape 7.1 or Apple Safari 1.1.
  • Test your browser here

What do I need to know?
You should be familiar with basic Web browsing, including navigating frames and filling in online forms.
