What is
My Username?
If you have used Blackboard, use the
same username you have used for that
service. If you do not know your username,
you can look it up using your Emplid or
other identifying information.
What is
My Password?
If you have previously used Blackboard or
the Student Information System, use your
current password. If you are new to your
college, a wizard will step you through the
password creation process
Password Tips
-
New passwords must be at least 7
characters long, but not longer than 10
characters. Note: If you enter
more than 10 characters, only the first
10 will be accepted. This means that if
you enter 12 characters, you may think
that all 12 were accepted. Then, when
you then try to log into one of the
VCCS
programs, you will receive an error
message when you enter all 12
characters; you can only enter the first
10.
- New
passwords can only contain UPPER and
lowercase letters (A-Z) and (a-z)
numbers (0-9).
- New
passwords cannot be only numbers.
- New
passwords cannot be set to a user’s date
of birth.
- New
passwords cannot be the same as the
current password.
- New
passwords cannot be the same as the
user’s username.
- New
passwords are case sensitive. For
example, if you use uppercase letters
for your password and then enter the
password with lowercase letters when you
access one of the
VCCS
programs, you will receive an error
message.
- Do not
use simple, obvious or predictable
passwords.
- Do not
use names or nicknames of people, pets,
places or personal information that can
be easily found out, such as your
address, birthday or hobbies.
- Create
passwords that are easy to remember but
hard to guess.
- Click
the "more password hints" link on the
right side of the "Change your password"
page for helpful hints on selecting and
managing your password.

Why
do I have a link to Student Email?
All students have accounts on the student
email system. This is the college's
official means of communication.
