The Thomas Nelson Website and the Blackboard Learning System requires a number of important media technology.  Among these are:

• Adobe Flash and Shockwave
• Java Applets
• Apple QuickTime media
• Adobe PDF documents

Please take a moment to verify your computer's support of these important media technologies.

Adobe Flash and Shockwave:

1. Visit the Adobe Flash and Shockwave test page.
2. If the plug-in is present you will see a confirmation animation, if not you will be prompted for download.
3. A download and installation may require the relaunching of you internet web browser.
4. Direct downloads:
   1. Adobe Flash (all operating systems)
   2. Adobe Shockwave (all operating systems)

Java Applets:

1. Java support for Blackboard requires an updated Java Virtual Machine on your computer.
2. Two tests are available.

3. If a proper Java Virtual Machine is missing your computer may need to be restarted.

Apple QuickTime media:

1. Visit the Apple QuickTime test website
2. An installation check will run and, if successful, a confirmation animation will play in the lower right corner.
3. If not, you will be prompted for a download.

4. The installation of QuickTime will require a relaunching of your internet browser and may require a  restart of your computer.

Adobe PDF:

1. Attempt to open this sample PDF document.
2. If the document loads within your internet browser or within Acrobat Reader, you have functioning PDF document support.
