Thomas Nelson Community College’s (TNCC) Phi Sigma chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) will host a “Commit to Completion” signing event Wednesday, March 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Hampton campus. As part of a national initiative called College Completion Challenge, PTK invites students to gather in the campus courtyard to sign a mass pledge to complete their associate degrees or certificates before leaving community college for transfer to a four-year institution or to enter the job market. In the event of rain, activities will take place in the Library Gallery, Wythe Hall.
The organization also asks administrators, faculty and staff to sign the pledge, committing themselves to do whatever they can to facilitate completion of student credentials.
As keynote speaker during the event, TNCC President John T. Dever will address the importance of college completion. Student support groups from the College will also be on hand to provide information about their services.
