TNCC Board Meets Wednesday, April 24

The Thomas Nelson Community College (TNCC) Board will meet Wednesday, April 24 at 5:45 p.m. in the College Board Room, Moore Hall, on the Hampton campus.

The Board’s committee meetings will take place earlier at 5 p.m. in Harrison Hall. The Financial and Municipal Liaison Committee will convene in Room 3 and the Curriculum, Instruction, and Student Services Committee in Conference Room 9.

The Board will meet in closed session in accordance with the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. The general Board meeting is open to the public in accordance with the Virginia Freedom of Information Act.

TNCC Closed to the Public March 6, Professional Development Activities Taking Place

Thomas Nelson Community College (TNCC) campuses in Hampton and the Historic Triangle in Williamsburg will be closed to the public 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 6. TNCC personnel will be engaged in a series of workshops and training sessions on the Hampton campus. Services including registration, fee and tuition payment for TNCC’s second eight-week class session will be available online at www.tncc.edu.

Bookstores on both campuses will be open. TNCC’s Workforce Development sections will operate as follows:

  • Workforce Training and Continuing Education will be closed as students will be on spring break;
  • Workforce Transition and Career Services in Hampton and Williamsburg will conduct Middle College and Plugged-in classes;
  • The Business Development and Corporate Training division in Hampton will be open;
  • Rapid Response services will be provided on an as-needed basis;
  • The Manufacturing Excellence Center in Hampton will be open;
  • The Discovery Center in Williamsburg will be open.

 The College will reopen at 8 a.m. on Thursday, March 7. All classes begin Monday, March 11.

Thomas Nelson Community College’s afternoon and evening classes for Friday, January 25 and Saturday, January 26 on the Hampton and Historic Triangle campuses, at the Southeast Higher Education Center and satellite sites are cancelled due to predicted inclement weather. College offices on both campuses will close at 2 p.m on Friday, January 25.

Beginning at noon today, Friday, January 25, Thomas Nelson Community College’s afternoon and evening classes on the Hampton and Historic Triangle campuses, at the Southeast Higher Education Center and satellite sites are cancelled due to predicted inclement weather. College offices on both campuses will close at 2 p.m.

TNCC officials will continue to monitor weather and campus conditions throughout the evening. At this time, TNCC campuses plan to operate on a regular schedule on Saturday, January 26. Please check www.tncc.edu for updated information.

Tonight’s 8 p.m. performance by the Poquoson Island Players of “The Fox on the Fairway” scheduled for the Dr. Mary T. Christian Auditorium on TNCC’s Hampton campus is cancelled. For updated information about Saturday and Sunday performances, please call 757- 881-9797 or 757-825-2779.

Hampton Campus Make-up Testing Hours and Locations: Fall 2012 Final Exams

Please note the changes in times and locations of Make-up Testing services at the Hampton campus during fall 2012 final exam week. If you have any questions, please phone the testing center at 757-825-3540 or 757-825-2975. You may also send an email to Hamptontesting@tncc.edu.

Faculty members: Tests must be dropped off or picked up at the Espada Center during exam week. Please write or type your name on the first page of each test.

1. Students who need to use the computers for distance learning testing, report to room 254B, Wythe Hall. (same hours as below)

2. Students taking paper and pencil make-up exams will report to the Espada Center on the following dates:

    • Mon., Dec. 10      Espada Center/Moore Hall     (8:30 a.m.- 5 p.m., closing at 7 p.m.)
    • Tues., Dec. 11     Espada Center/Moore Hall     (8:30 a.m.- 5 p.m., closing at 7 p.m.)
    • Wed., Dec. 12      Espada Center/Moore Hall    (8:30 a.m.- 5 p.m., closing at 7 p.m.)
    • Thurs., Dec. 13    Espada Center/Moore Hall    (8:30 a.m.- 5 p.m., closing at 7 p.m.)
    • Fri., Dec. 14         Espada Center/Moore Hall    (8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m., closing 5 p.m.)

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

• Tests will not be distributed any later than two hours before closing

• Tests must be turned in when the testing center closes

• All students must present photo I.D. – No Exceptions

• Cell phones are not permitted in the testing area

• Students must know the name of the professor, the class name and section number for which they are testing

• Children are not permitted in the testing area

 

 

Reminder: Spring Registration Deadline

Registration for the spring 2013 semester is underway. Students who registered for spring classes prior to Friday, December 7 must pay by December 7 to avoid class cancellation.
