October brings plenty of ghosts, goblins and eerie happenings to mark the Halloween season. The Chesapeake Bay Wind Ensemble will mark the start of the month with “A Creepy Mansion Concert” at Thomas Nelson Community College (TNCC) on Saturday, October 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the Dr. Mary T. Christian Auditorium, Hampton campus.
The Chesapeake Wind Ensemble was founded in 1998 to provide an avenue for local amateur musicians to hone their skills. With about 40 members, the ensemble plays a wide variety of pieces at a myriad of venues in the Hampton Roads area, presenting approximately eight performances annually. The nonprofit organization offers scholarship opportunities for its high school musicians.
Tickets will be available for $10 at the door. Admission is free for ages 18 and under. For more information about Chesapeake Bay Wind Ensemble, please visit www.cbwe.org. Additional information about TNCC’s Dr. Mary T. Christian Auditorium is available on TNCC.edu.
