Fall classes at Thomas Nelson Community College begin Wednesday, Aug. 20 with 16-week and 8-week sessions at the Hampton campus, Historic Triangle campus in Williamsburg and Southeast Higher Education Center in Newport News. Day, evening and online classes are available. Visit www.tncc.edu for a complete list of classes.
Students may register online or in person at the Hampton campus in Griffin Hall or at the Historic Triangle campus in room 117. The deadline to pay tuition is Friday, July 11. After the deadline, tuition payment is due at the time of registration.
A myriad of academic, certificate and workforce development courses will be offered including two new offerings — an Associate of Applied Science degree in Technical Studies with a specialization in Industrial Technology and a Career Studies Certificate in Cyber Security. The new Associate of Applied Science degree prepares students for a range of careers in industrial automation, industrial mechanics, electrical and electronic equipment, renewable energy, fiber optics, and process controls. The new Career Studies Certificate prepares students to take CompTIA Security+ and the EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker exams as a first step toward the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) credential. CISSP is the top-level standard for cyber security practitioners.
