Published: February 25, 2013

Thomas Nelson Community College’s (TNCC) Division of Communications, Humanities, and Social Sciences will present a free public forum on TNCC’s Hampton campus titled, “Convergence: A Faith and Science Dialog Between the God Person and the God Particle.” The panel discussion takes place Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m. in Moore Hall’s Espada Room.

Retired TNCC Mathematics Professor Dr. George DeRise and Dr. Dennis Buchholz, a Lutheran pastor and Tidewater Community College professor, will serve as guest panelists. Dr. Charles Smith, who teaches Biology and Religious Studies at TNCC, will serve as moderator. The forum will “bring together speakers with both disparate and similar backgrounds to discuss issues in science, faith and popular culture,” said Smith.

After each speaker’s presentation, the speakers will address questions and comments from the audience.

The forum is made possible through a TNCC Educational Foundation grant.
