Due to overwhelming response, Workforce Development at Thomas Nelson Community College (TNCC) has moved its information session on the popular Pharmacy Technician program to a larger venue. The Wednesday, December 16 session will take place in the Espada Conference Center, Moore Hall, from 6-7 p.m. on TNCC’s Hampton Campus. The session will feature college representatives and a local pharmacy providing valuable details about this accelerated program. A discussion on local employment opportunities for those earning a pharmacy technician certification will also be discussed.
TNCC’s Pharmacy Technician program prepares students to work as pharmacy technicians in hospitals, clinics and local pharmacies. Classes provide students with the basic skills needed to pass the state’s certification exam, a requirement for all pharmacy technicians in Virginia.
The program’s curriculum includes classes in pharmacology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacy practice and other courses that provide the knowledge necessary for entry-level jobs in the pharmaceutical industry.
