The Thomas Nelson Community College (TNCC) library and Learning Resources Center in Wythe Hall on the Hampton Campus will be closed May 8 – 16 for renovation. The upgrades will include an updated floor plan, new furniture, ceiling tiles and lights. “The result will be more accessible service points, an expanded computer area, new group-study spaces and a fresh new look for the whole library,” said TNCC’s Interim Director of Learning Resources Susan Lawlor.
Lawlor said the Wythe Hall Gallery will serve as a temporary storage area during the project. Therefore, no events will take place in May in the facility.
During the closure, staff will be checking email and voicemail, she added. Books and media that are due in the library between May 8 and May 16 can be returned at the book drop box located outside of the back door to Wythe Hall.
Lawlor said basic services will resume on May 17. “Depending on the progress of the renovation, services may be limited and may be relocated to other spaces in Wythe Hall. Details on times and locations will be announced as they are known,” she added.
