Kindles are available for checkout to any current TNCC student, faculty or staff member.

The loan period for the Kindles is 14 days, non-renewable, with a 24 hour waiting period between loans. Kindles are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  No holds are allowed.

Checkout of a Kindle includes the device itself, a protective cover, a two-part A/C/USB adapter cord, and a Quick Start booklet.

Borrowers must sign a “Kindle Loan Agreement” with each checkout, acknowledging financial responsibility for lost or damaged equipment.

Kindles must be returned in person to the circulation desk at the campus at which they were originally checked out.  Kindles may not be returned in the book drop.

Borrowers are responsible for damage or loss of the Kindle and/or accompanying parts while Kindle is checked out.  Damage or loss will result in a replacement charge.

Borrowers will incur a mandatory, non-refundable replacement fee for the Kindle and/or attachments if the reader and/or attachments become 28 days or more overdue.

Replacement costs are as follows:

  • Kindle: $255.00
  • Cover: $65.00
  • A/C/USB adapter cord: $28.00

Borrowers may use their own Amazon accounts to purchase and download titles.  Content loaded on the Kindle by borrowers will be deleted by library staff upon return.

Violation of any portion of this policy may result in the revocation of Kindle checkout privileges.
