WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Local drummer Connie Ralston will entertain Thomas Nelson Community College (TNCC) students, faculty and staff with a rousing performance during World Rhythms Wednesday, November 17 at 11 a.m. The performance will take place at the College’s Historic Triangle Campus in Williamsburg.

Ralston has been an active member of the local drumming community for more than 15 years offering workshops for children, adults, at-risk students and those seeking personal lessons. In addition, she performs with Beleza, a local women’s drumming group, and facilitates monthly drumming circles.

She also lends her musical talents to organizations that help women in recovery and transitional programs. As a member of AmeriCorps VISTA, a national service program designed to fight poverty, Ralston developed an outreach program to teach care providers to help the elderly with drums and rhythms from around the world. Her program has served more than 2,400 seniors.
