Poquoson Island Players will present Sam Bobrick’s “Baggage” Jan. 27 – Feb. 5 at Thomas Nelson Community College (TNCC) in the Dr. Mary T. Christian Auditorium, Hampton campus. The show is open to the public with Friday and Saturday performances at 8 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. shows on Sundays. Tickets are $15, general admission and $13 for students and senior citizens.

Set in the living room of a New York apartment, “Baggage” centers on Phyllis and Bradley, two difficult, single people, trying to heal from their respective disappointing relationships. Despite a very disagreeable first encounter when their luggage was mixed up at the airport, the two decide to help each other overcome their heartaches by forcing a friendship. They eventually discover that although they may be too difficult for everyone else in the world, they are right for each other.

Poquoson Island Players was created to provide affordable entertainment for theatre lovers on the Virginia Peninsula. The theatre company holds residency at the TNCC auditorium and produces three shows annually, including musicals, comedies and dramas.
