Thomas Nelson Community College is gearing up to present its Ninth Annual Car Show. A fundraiser to benefit the College's Automotive Technology program, the event is set for Saturday, Aug. 26. Check out http://tncc.edu/carshow in the coming months to see details. The site currently features highlights from last year.
The car show will feature more than 40 classes of cars and motorcycles, including, Chrysler and Ford classic and antique cars and trucks, tuners and late model muscle cars.
Thomas Nelson's Automotive Technology Program provides entry-level instruction for aspiring mechanics and serves the continuing education needs of trained mechanics. With day and evening courses, the flexible schedule allows students to work in the field while honing their skills. Students also have the privilege of working on makes and models they are likely to see once they are hired as mechanics.
Approved as a certified automotive training program by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, (ASE), the College's program serves students with instructors who are ASE Master Certified Technicians. All textbooks are also ASE-approved. Thomas Nelson has partnered with local dealerships to provide co-ops for the students that include tuition assistance and assistance with job placement.
