Thomas Nelson Community College Workforce Development presents the 2015 Peninsula Entrepreneurship Forum in an effort to bring together aspiring and growing entrepreneurs from around the region. The Forum will be held November 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Peninsula Workforce Development Center at 600 Butler Farm Road.
This year’s forum, “Opportunity Knocks,” will occur during Global Entrepreneurship Week, highlighting opportunities available to growing and established entrepreneurs on the Virginia Peninsula. Guest will be provided an array of information from successful entrepreneurs from the Peninsula.
Todd Boward, CEO of DividedSky Aerial Solutions (DividedSky), and Frank A. Edgar Jr., In-House Counsel for DividedSky, will serve as the co-keynote speakers at the forum. DividedSky is FAA approved to conduct commercial small-unmanned aerial systems (sUAS); the company specializes in aerial emergency response, agriculture, mapping and videography using innovative techniques and equipment safely and efficiently. DividedSky identified an opportunity and cultivated a thriving business; their efforts will resonate with entrepreneurs at all stages of the business cycle.
The forum will also include speakers from the region including; Zach Miller, Host of Hampton Roads Business Weekly and Founder of Hatch, a business that supports entrepreneurs by creating the platforms for them to start, launch, and grow their businesses; Will Boland, Co-Founder of CarLotz, a physical used car marketplace that provides the transparency and cost benefits of a private used car transaction and the convenience and service benefits of a dealer; and finally, Graham Henshaw, Executive Director of the William & Mary Alan B. Miller Entrepreneurship Center, which provides support to those with ideas that spark new business.
The forum is free and open to the public space is limited and registration is required. Coffee and Lunch are included. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the forum begins at 9 a.m.
