Several Thomas Nelson students recently attended an Old Dominion University open house. Coordinated by the College’s Science Department, the Feb. 3 visit gave students valuable insight about the Norfolk-based university.

Spanning nearly five hours, the event included a future educators’ exploration session, financial aid presentations and a session on college transfer. Attendees also heard from freshman student and peer mentor panels.

Students also selected from among break-out sessions by ODU’s various academic divisions. Help for those still pondering a major was also available in a break-out session by the university’s Center to Major Exploration.

Accompanied by Assistant Professor Tonya Burton and Professor Elena Kuchina, participants were Kim Carter, Robert Kalauz, Ivuoma Okafor, Caitlyn Baginski, Maria Carlson and Candice Carnegie. The group wrapped up the visit with a campus tour as part of open house activities.
