Thomas Nelson Community College is pleased to announce its 2017 Summer Camp schedule. This summer, Thomas Nelson will open its doors to middle and high school students for five weeklong camps.
Summer camps will allow students to discover the entrepreneur within, learn the latest skills and tools used in today’s manufacturing industry or become real-life forensic scientists.
Thomas Nelson Manufacturing Camps: Camps are designed for rising seventh through eleventh grade students.
Peninsula K-Next!: June 21-24, $77
This camp introduces manufacturing to the next generation of inventors, engineers and manufacturers, while allowing them to design, produce and manufacture products using CNC programming and manufacturing machines.
Imagineering! & Creative Technology: July 10-15, $99
Campers have an opportunity to explore the world of entrepreneurship from product concept to prototyping using in-depth CAD (computer assisted design) programs and 3D printing machines.
The Hover Games: August 7-12, $99
Campers will have an opportunity to build, program, and fly a “quadcopter,”through the use of CAD and 3D printers. Campers will also visit state-of-the-art companies operating in the world of unmanned aerial systems.
Thomas Nelson Science Camp: July 24-27, Free
Middle school students can unlock their curiosity through an exciting curriculum filled with hands-on, interactive activities led by Thomas Nelson’s Science faculty.
Thomas Nelson Technology Camp: July 17-20, Free
High school students, grades 9 - 12, will participate in technology labs everyday; enjoy featured speakers and group activities during this weeklong camp. The technology camp will feature various labs focusing on technology in different industries.
