Thomas Nelson Community College will host its 2017 Open House this spring with activities taking place Thursday, April 6 at the Historic Triangle campus in Williamsburg and Friday, April 21 at the Hampton campus. Activities run 1 – 4 p.m. both days.
The free event will begin with a workshop at 1 p.m. about admissions, financial aid and opportunities to transfer to four-year colleges and universities. An information fair will follow from 2 – 4 p.m.
Open House attendees can participate in campus tours and meet faculty and staff to learn more about academic programs, student activities and more. The information fair will feature representatives from Nursing; Human Services; Science, Engineering and Technology; Communications, Humanities and Social Sciences; Workforce Development; CISCO Networking and Cybersecurity; Performing Arts; Visual Arts; Mathematics and more.
The event will also include information about the College’s library, Health, Physical Education and Wellness Center and disability services. Military-affiliated students will have access to information about contract credit and military affairs as well as Thomas Nelson’s chapter of the Student Veterans of America. Representatives from Great Expectations will be on hand with information about special programs that help Virginia foster youth gain access to community college education.
