Learn to save lives. Thomas Nelson Community College’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program offers career studies certificates that provides instruction in emergency medical care and prepares students to sit for state and national certification.

Basic

This certificate program prepares students to become Emergency Medical Technicians at the entry level. Students will have the opportunity to become a Certified Emergency Medical Technician.

Intermediate

This certificate program prepares students to become Emergency Medical Technicians at the National EMT - Intermediate Level. Students will have the opportunity to become a Certified Medical Technical - Intermediate through the National Registry. 

Paramedic

This curriculum prepares current EMT-Intermediate certificate holders to complete the EMT Paramedic Certification. Students will have the opportunity to become a Certified Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic through the National Registry. 

Possibilities 

Prepare for entry-level employment as a Certified Emergency Medical Technician in hospitals, local fire and EMS agencies and private ambulance companies.
