As a new business owner, or a more “seasoned” one, there are always things you need to learn about accounting and taxes for your small business.  Learn about: your entity type and taxes, developing financial reports, reading financial reports, business efficiency in financial reports, key performance indicators, pricing, and forecasting and budgeting.
 

Business Validation: How to Make Something People Want

Do you have an idea for a business? Want to make your side-project your main gig? In this class, students will carry out a series of real world business experiments in order to learn exactly what their potential customers want. We'll validate ideas and test our assumptions in order to build businesses that are profitable, sustainable, and rewarding.

Small Business Accounting Process

Tuition: $100

Your process is more than your accounting software.  Learn about permits & licensing, registering with eVA, SWaM, DUNS and your local government; income, invoicing-asset recording and recordkeeping; inventory, expenses-liabilities and equity recording and recordkeeping; process organization [includes scaling (employee vs. contractor), when you can bring someone else in].  Ideal students include new businesses or businesses in a “ramp up” for growth phase.
 

Marketing Essentials for New Ventures

Overwhelmed by everything you can do to market your business?  This course covers the critical marketing elements a new venture must prepare in order to launch a new product or service.  Some of the topics covered in this practical class include strategic planning, branding, online marketing, website development, promotion and public relations.
