Rich Wilcox comes to Thomas Nelson with experience as a mechatronics technician and lead instructor in a Siemens mechatronics program with a 100% pass rate for his graduates. As the new program head for mechatronics at Thomas Nelson, he designed the curriculum and lab, and the first graduates have all earned Siemens Level 1 certification. Rich is also the developer of the Level 2 program which will be available in 2017 and the dual enrollment program for high school students attending New Horizons Regional Education Center.
Jean Frank is a certified Siemens mechatronics instructor in Levels 1 and 2 and is the program head for Industrial Technology. Her experience in fiber optics, motor controls, PLCs and composites are assets in the mechatronics and advanced manufacturing programs. Jean is a military veteran and has extensive industry experience as a technician in the nuclear power industry. She is also an examiner for SpaceTEC, a national certification for aerospace technicians, and the principal investigator for IMATEC, a grant from National Science Foundation to embed workplace competencies into technician education.
