Course Description and Pre-requisites
FRE 101 Beginning French I
(4 credits) FRE 101/102 must be taken in sequence. Prerequisite(s): ENF 1 or ENF 2 as demonstrated through the placement and diagnostics tests or equivalent. Introduces understanding, speaking, reading, and writing skills and emphasizes basic French sentence structure. Lecture 4 hours per week. May include one additional hour of oral practice per week.
FRE 102 Beginning French II
(4 credits) FRE 101/102 must be taken in sequence. Prerequisite(s): FRE 101. Introduces understanding, speaking, reading, and writing skills and emphasizes basic French sentence structure. Lecture 4 hours per week. May include one additional hour of oral practice per week.
FRE 201 Intermediate French I
(4 credits) FRE 201/202 must be taken in sequence. Prerequisite(s): FRE 102 or equivalent. Continues to develop understanding, speaking, reading, and writing skills. French is used in the classroom. Lecture 4 hours per week. May include one additional hour of oral practice per week.
FRE 202 Intermediate French II
