Special Notes : This section's is a 1 credit class. Applied classes are private lessons held once a week (30 minutes for a 1 credit class). There is an additional fee for applied music classes: $200 for 1 credit, $400 for 2 credits. Please contact the Music Department's Chair, Mr. Michael Sundblad - 825-3443 or sundbladm@tncc.edu - room 919 of Templin Hall, for scheduling information concerning this class. All courses in applied music may be repeated for a total of 8 hours for the major and 4 hours for the minor. One half-hour lesson per week. Four to eight hours practice required.

Full Course Description : (1-2 credits) Prerequisites: Division Approval. Teaches fundamentals of string instruments, harp, or guitar. Studies the standard repertoire. Prerequisite divisional approval. Private lessons are available for either 1 or 2 hours of credit per semester. The length of the lessons will be 1/2 hour for 1 hour credit and 1 hour for 2 hours credit per semester. All courses in applied music may be repeated for a total of 8 hours for the major and 4 hours for the minor. 1-2 half-hour lessons per week, 4-8 hours practice (laboratory) required. Laboratory 4-8 hours per week.
