Special Notes : The above section will be conducted in a combination of traditional classroom lecture and online (Distance Learning) delivery. Students must have regular access to a computer and the Internet to successfully complete this course. Orientations for Fall 2012 will be held on Wednesday, August 15, from 5-6 pm in the Mary T. Christian Auditorium in Templin Hall on the Hampton Campus and Thursday, August 16, from 5-6 pm in the Commonwealth Classroom - room 110 - at the Historic Triangle Campus. Full Course Description : (4 credits) Prerequisite(s): ITE 115 or ITE 119 or departmental approval. Provides hands-on introduction to a dynamic desktop GIS (Geographic Information System). Introduces the components of a desktop GIS and their functionality. Emphasizes manipulation of data for the purpose of analysis, presentation, and decision-making. Lecture 3 hours + lab 2 hours = total 5 hours per week.
