This section is a Distance Learning course taught using Blackboard via the Internet. Students must have regular access to a computer and the Internet to successfully complete this course. There will be two distance learning orientation sessions - one from 5-6 pm in room 100 on (Wednesday) January 8, 2014 at the Historic Triangle Campus and the second held on (Thursday) January 9, 2014, from 5-6pm in the Mary Christian Auditorium on the Hampton Campus. (3 credits) Prerequisite(s): ENF 1 or ENF 2 as demonstrated through the placement and diagnostics tests or equivalent. (ITE 160 is also recommended). Emphasizes techniques to plan and to design a platform-independent commerce Web site. Focuses on web business strategies, and the hardware and software tools necessary for Internet commerce, including comparison and selection of commerce architecture, installation and configuration, security considerations, and planning of a complete business-to-consumer and business-to-business site. Lecture 3 hours per week.
