This section is a Distance Learning course taught using Blackboard via the Internet. Students must have regular access to a computer and the Internet to successfully complete this course. There will be two distance learning orientation sessions - one from 5-6 pm in room 100 on (Wednesday) January 8, 2014 at the Historic Triangle Campus and the second held on (Thursday) January 9, 2014, from 5-6pm in the Mary Christian Auditorium on the Hampton Campus. (4 credits) CSC 201/202 must be taken in sequence. Prerequisite(s): CSC 200 or EGR 120 or equivalent or divisional approval. Co-requisite(s): CSC 100 or MTH 173. Introduces algorithm and problem-solving methods. Emphasizes structured programming concepts, elementary data structures, and the study and use of a high level programming language. Lecture 4 hours per week.
