This section is a Distance Learning course taught using Blackboard via the Internet. Students must have regular access to a computer and the Internet to successfully complete this course. There will be two distance learning orientation sessions - one from 5-6 pm in room 100 on (Wednesday) January 8, 2014 at the Historic Triangle Campus and the second held on (Thursday) January 9, 2014, from 5-6pm in the Mary Christian Auditorium on the Hampton Campus. (4 credits) Prerequisite(s): GIS 200. Provides a continuation of GIS 200, with emphasis on advanced topics in problem solving, decision-making, modeling, programming, and data management. Covers map projections and data formats, and methods for solving the problems they create. Lecture 3 hours + laboratory 2 hours = total 5 hours per week.
