This section is a Distance Learning course taught using Blackboard via the Internet. Proctored testing is required. Students must have regular access to a computer and the Internet to successfully complete this course. There will be two distance learning orientation sessions - one from 5-6 pm in room 100 on (Wednesday) January 8, 2014 at the Historic Triangle Campus and the second held on (Thursday) January 9, 2014, from 5-6pm in the Mary Christian Auditorium on the Hampton Campus. (4 credits) Prerequisite(s): BIO 102 or BIO 145 or BIO 142 or permission of instructor. Studies the general characteristics of microorganisms. Emphasizes their relationships to individual and community health. Intended primarily for students interested in allied health professions. Lecture 3 hours + recitation and lab 3 hours = total 6 hours per week.
