The above section will be conducted in a combination of traditional classroom lecture and online (Distance Learning) delivery. Students must have regular access to a computer and the Internet to successfully complete this course. There will be two distance learning orientation sessions - one from 5-6 pm in room 100 on (Wednesday) January 8, 2014 at the Historic Triangle Campus and the second held on (Thursday) January 9, 2014, from 5-6pm in the Mary Christian Auditorium on the Hampton Campus. (3 credits) Prerequisite(s): BIO 141 and NUR 100, NUR 104, NUR 105, NUR 117, NUR 135, and BIO 142. Utilizes the nursing process in caring for individuals, families, and/or groups with mental health needs across the life span. Includes math computational skills and basic computer instruction related to the delivery of nursing care. Provides supervised learning experiences in college nursing laboratories and/or cooperating agencies. Lecture 2 hours + lab 3 hours = total 5 hours per week.
