This section is a Distance Learning course taught by Northern Virginia Community College using Blackboard via the Internet. Class dates are January 13, 2014 through April 6, 2014. Proctored testing is required. Students must have regular access to a computer and the Internet to successfully complete this course. There will be two distance learning orientation sessions - one from 5-6 pm in room 100 on (Wednesday) January 8, 2014 at the Historic Triangle Campus and the second held on (Thursday) January 9, 2014, from 5-6pm in the Mary Christian Auditorium on the Hampton Campus. (3 credits) Prerequisite(s): ITN 109 or equivalent or permission of the department. Provides instruction in the basics of network security in depth. Includes security objectives, security architecture, security models and security layers; risk management, network security policy, and security training. Includes the give security keys, confidentiality integrity, availability, accountability and auditability. Lecture 3 hours per week.
