Important Announcements

  • Spring Semester Textbook Purchasing
  • Important Announcement for First Time Student Loan Borrowers
  • Federal financial aid awards (Pell Grants, Federal Work Study and Student Loans) are not impacted by the current government shutdown.  Because the Federal Student Aid programs are forward funded (i.e., funding for the current award year primarily comes from last year’s budget), the funding is already in place for the 2013-14 award year.  Students can still apply for financial aid by completing the Free Application for federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and for those who have been awarded; they will receive their refunds once their aid pays their outstanding school charges (tuition and fees and/or books).
The mission of the Financial Aid office is to provide accurate information and efficient access to financial aid, scholarships and veteran’s benefits for which students qualify in order to help pay reasonable costs in compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally the mission includes required reporting to institutional, state and federal agencies and participation in appropriate professional associations.
