Thomas Nelson Community College’s (TNCC) Office of Financial Aid has announced that students due to graduate at the end of spring semester who have received a Federal Subsided or Unsubsidized Stafford Loan during their attendance at TNCC are required to attend an Exit Loan Session. The session will provide students with vital loan repayment information.

TNCC’s Service Hours to Change in January

Effective Monday, January 4, Thomas Nelson Community College operations at both the Hampton and Historic Triangle campuses for direct student services — i.e. enrollment services, counseling, financial aid and cashiering — will be adjusted. The revised service hours are as follows:

  • Monday through Wednesday : 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
  • Thursday : 8:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
  • Friday : 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
  • Saturday : closed

Guidance Counselors to Learn More about Benefits of Community College Experience at TNCC

Middle and high school guidance counselors from across the Peninsula have been invited to attend a mini-conference sponsored by Thomas Nelson Community College on February 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Peninsula Workforce Development Center. At the conference, participants will obtain the most current information concerning the College’s academic programs and support services and explore how students can benefit from the community college experience. Counselors will also collaborate and network with other colleagues and college staff to share ideas for expanding student options through academic programs and student support services.

Highlights of the Guidance Counselor Mini-Conference include: campus tours, break-out sessions with the deans of the four academic divisions at Thomas Nelson Community College, a panel discussion on admissions, testing, counseling, financial aid and registration, and an information session on dual enrollment and tech prep opportunities for high school students.
