Thomas Nelson Community College’s (TNCC) Performing Arts Department and TNCC Players will present Lerner & Loewe’s “Brigadoon” on the Hampton campus at the Dr. Mary T. Christian Auditorium in Templin Hall.
Performances will take place Nov. 9-11 and Nov. 16-18 at 8:00 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 3:00 p.m. Sundays.
Popularized by the Broadway musical and 1954 film, “Brigadoon” chronicles the tale of two Americans who become lost on a hunting trip in Scotland. The New Yorkers encounter a small uncharted village called Brigadoon and its people who harbor a mysterious secret.
The natives behave as if they were still living two hundred years in the past. Songs from the production such as “Almost Like Being in Love” have become standards.
The College presents three productions annually. The upcoming musical boasts a cast that includes students, faculty, staff and members of the community.
