TNCC Professor Conducts Free Presentation on ‘Hero Myth’

Thomas Nelson Community College’s (TNCC) Department of Communications, Humanities & Social Sciences presents “Hero Myth.” The faculty colloquium will examine the hero archetype. Free and open to the public, the one-hour presentation begins at 3 p.m. Tuesday, October 30 in the Espada Conference Center, Moore Hall on the Hampton campus.

TNCC Adjunct Professor of English Christopher LaPointe will describe some characteristics that a typical hero has and how those characteristics have been altered in various works of literature. Figures such as Gilgamesh, Odysseus, Moses, Jesus, Superman, and others will be discussed.
