TNCC Hosts Annual Open House in Hampton, Williamsburg in April

Thomas Nelson Community College (TNCC) will host its 2013 Open House this spring with activities taking place Friday, April 19 on the Hampton campus and Friday, April 26 at the Historic Triangle campus in Williamsburg. Activities run 2-5 p.m. both days giving attendees an overview of TNCC’s admissions process, available degree programs and options for transfer to four-year colleges and universities.
The free event will also focus on financial aid, scholarships and transfer agreements with four-year colleges. TNCC staff members will be on hand to share details about available student activities such as clubs, sports and more. Prospective students and their families will get an opportunity to tour the campus they visit and talk with currently enrolled students.

Several Dental Hygiene students were the stars of the show when Steve Maylone, an architectural photographer of Denver, Colorado, was on site at the Historic Triangle campus to photograph the Dental Hygiene Clinic for Moseley Architects of Virginia Beach.
The firm designed the Historic Triangle campus building.
TNCC Hosts Annual Halloween Poetry Reading

Thomas Nelson Community College will host its annual Halloween Poetry Reading on Tuesday, October 25 from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Historic Triangle campus, 4601 Opportunity Way, Williamsburg. Presented by TNCC’s Creative Writing class and the Student Government Association, the event is open to TNCC students, faculty and staff as well as members of the community.
The free event will feature entertaining readings of original poetry and prose. Participants and attendees are encouraged to wear costumes for the event. This is the fifth year for the Halloween Poetry Reading at the Historic Triangle campus. “It began as a class activity for the creative writing students to participate in. However, from the beginning, the campus community and the public were always invited,” said Assistant Professor of English Diana Martin.

Thomas Nelson Community College’s (TNCC) Historic Triangle campus in Williamsburg officially opened in July. Join TNCC and community leaders for a grand opening ceremony on September 25 at 2:00 p.m. The new facility sits on nearly 74 acres of land next to Warhill High School at 4601 Opportunity Way.
The ceremony will include remarks from TNCC President Alvin J. Schexnider, Historic Triangle Campus Provost William Travis and a slate of specially invited local, regional and state government officials.

Thomas Nelson Community College has conducted classes in various spaces around Williamsburg for a long time, but this fall it opens the first building on a permanent satellite campus there.
Tours are available to the public between now and Aug. 20. Classes start Aug. 22.
Future plans for the campus call for additional buildings if and when student enrollment demands it and state funds are available, said TNCC Historic Triangle Provost William Travis.

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Thomas Nelson Community College’s (TNCC) new Historic Triangle campus in Williamsburg is now open. Beginning July 22, the College will host public tours of the new facility at 10:00 a.m. Wednesdays and 3:30 p.m. Thursdays through August 21. The new campus sits on nearly 74 acres of land next to Warhill High School at 4601 Opportunity Way.
With state-of-the-art academic, administrative, physical plant and student and faculty support facilities, TNCC’s new three-story, 120,000 square-foot building on the Historic Triangle campus will serve the needs of the students and community at large with a full-service bookstore, computer labs, library and more.
