A multimedia exhibition of individual art portfolios by Thomas Nelson Community College students entitled Play will be featured in Templin Hall (Hampton campus) on Friday, Oct. 24 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
The exhibit features the digital portfolios of graduating students Zach Bealer, Michelle Folts, Karen Price, Joe Reedy, Kira Shird and Brittanie Thompson.

Four Thomas Nelson Community College students scheduled to graduate on May 13 are the College’s first Honors Program graduates. The 7:00 p.m. commencement ceremony will be held at the Hampton Coliseum.
Eduardo Davila-Reyes, Shea Degruy, Thomas Dale Hill and Tyrone Norman earned Honors distinction by successfully completing 15 or more credit hours of Honors-level courses and at least one semester of the Honors colloquium series ? a sequence of seminars and themed group activities. The students also performed well in their regular courses maintaining a 3.25 or greater grade point average throughout their enrollment at TNCC, according to the College’s Honors Coordinator Dr. Linda Haugh.

Thomas Nelson Community College students Eduardo Davila-Reyes, Ashley Wiggins and Kelli Cutler have been named to the 2008 All-Virginia Academic Team. Selection is based on the nominations submitted by two-year colleges for the All-USA Academic Team, an international competition co-sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honor Society, USA TODAY and the American Association of Community Colleges. Davila-Reyes and Wiggins will be graduating from TNCC on May 13 at the College’s thirty-ninth Annual Commencement Ceremony to take place at 7:00 p.m. at the Hampton Coliseum.
Davila-Reyes has attended TNCC since fall 2006 pursuing an Associate of Science and an Associate of Social Science degree. This fall, he will transfer to the College of William & Mary to pursue a degree in Biology or Neuroscience with a minor in Biochemistry. He aspires to become a pharmacist.

Gold, Gods and Glory, the Global Dynamics of Power is this year’s topic for the Honor Seminar Series sponsored by the Thomas Nelson Community College chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honor Society. Seminars will be held in Room 100, Diggs Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7 and Nov. 28. The seminars are free to TNCC students, faculty and staff. Admission is $2.00 for the general public with all proceeds to be donated to the VA Civil Rights Memorial Fund. The Virginia Peninsula – The Thomas Nelson Community College International Honor Society, Phi Theta Kappa and the TNCC Honors Program are sponsoring a video seminar series on Pop Culture; Shaping and Reflecting Who We Are. The seminars run for one hour and are followed by a short discussion. The seminars are shown in the Espada Conference Room in Moore Hall on the Hampton campus at 6:00 p.m.
