Thomas Nelson Community College will hold Memorial Observances for victims of the Virginia Tech tragedy on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 from 11:50 AM until 12:10 PM in the central parking lot of John Jefferson Square on the Historic Triangle Campus and from 2:30 – 3:00 PM in the Dr. Mary T. Christian Auditorium on the Hampton Campus. Students, faculty, staff and members of the public are welcome to attend and participate. On behalf of the students, faculty, and staff of Thomas Nelson Community College, I would like to express my deepest sympathy and solidarity to the victims of the tragic events at Virginia Tech. Also, I would like to express our appreciation to the Virginia Tech Campus Police and hundreds of emergency responders and medical professionals who assisted in the crisis.

The students, faculty, and staff at Thomas Nelson Community College feel the pain and loss of our counterparts at Virginia Tech. The loss of lives is an unimaginable heartache. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the students, families, faculty and staff affected by the tragedy.

Thomas Nelson Community College expresses sympathy to those affected by the tragic events that occurred at the Virginia Tech campus Monday, April 16, 2007.

Thomas Nelson Community College’s Student Development Offices would like to remind the campus community that counseling is available for anyone – faculty, staff, and students who may need assistance following these events. Please call the Office of Student Development-Hampton Campus at 825- 2827 or the Historic Triangle Campus at 253-4755, if counseling services are needed.
