Thomas Nelson Community College will hold its 39th Annual Commencement ceremony on Tuesday, May 13 at 7 p.m. at the Hampton Coliseum. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Roseann Runte, President of Old Dominion University.
About Dr. Runte:
Dr. Runte became president of Old Dominion University on July 1, 2001. She previously served as President of Victoria University, Principal of Glendon College, and President of l’Université Sainte-Anne.
Dr. Runte has remained faithful to her love of students and the classroom, teaching at least one course each year. In addition, she continues to write academic, creative, and editorial pieces.

Thomas Nelson Community College will hold its 38th Annual Commencement ceremony on Tuesday, May 15 at 7 p.m. at the Hampton Coliseum. The keynote speaker will be Commonwealth of Virginia Secretary of Education Dr. Thomas R. Morris.
About Dr. Thomas R. Morris:
Dr. Morris began serving as Secretary of Education for the Commonwealth of Virginia on January 15, 2006 as part of Gov. Timothy M. Kaine’s administration. Prior to his appointment within the Governor’s Cabinet, he was president of Emory & Henry College for nearly 14 years. A distinguished Constitutional scholar and political scientist, he was also a faculty member at the University of Richmond for 21 years.

THE VIRGINIA PENINSULA — Award-winning journalist and host of WHRO’s lunch hour talk show HearSay, Cathy Lewis will be the speaker at Thomas Nelson Community College Commencement Ceremony to be held at the Hampton Coliseum on Wednesday, May 17 at 7:00 p.m.
A familiar face and voice in Hampton Roads for more than 20 years, Lewis’ career in journalism brought her to WAVY-TV 10 in 1982 where she anchored the station’s noon newscast and covered the military and healthcare beats that took her to Grenada, Europe, the Philippines and Haiti.
