Southern Horizons, a group specializing in Civil War-era music, comes to Thomas Nelson Community College’s (TNCC) Hampton campus Thursday, March 29 as part of the Abraham Lincoln Exhibit in Wythe Hall. Students are invited to enjoy two free 45-minute performances at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Since 1987, Southern Horizons has performed music from the years 1816 to 1865 for reenactments, museums, conventions, schools and private engagements. The band performs in costume playing instruments similar to those that would have been found in the homes of the 19th Century citizenry.
