Creative students interested in exploring the interactive web design and animation field can enroll in the new Communication Design Interactive Media Career Studies Certificate Program now available at Thomas Nelson Community College. This new certificate program teaches the foundation of solid design along with the use of industry standard multimedia art and design software programs and enables students to create pieces that combine their technical knowledge with a personal creative visual.
The U.S. Department of Labor projects a steady climb in multimedia jobs nationwide going from 87,000 in 2006 to 110,000 available jobs in the field by 2016. “The demand for multimedia artists and animators will increase as consumers continue to demand more realistic video games, movie and television special effects, and 3D animated movies. Additional job openings will arise from an increasing demand for Web site development and for computer graphics adaptation from the growing number of mobile technologies. Animators are also increasingly finding work in alternative areas such as scientific research or design services,” according to the Labor Department’s Bureau of Statistics.
