A Virginia Foundation for Community College Education Initiative
THE VIRGINIA PENINSULA — Two lucky first-year students entering Thomas Nelson Community College this fall have an opportunity to receive up to $3,000 for a full year of tuition, books and fees due to a newly created Commonwealth Legacy Scholarship Program.
This unique opportunity is being made possible by the Virginia Foundation for Community College Education (VFCCE) at all 23 Virginia Community College System (VCCS) schools. One scholarship will be awarded at each of the 40 campuses in the VCCS. Two scholarships will be available at Thomas Nelson Community College (one each for the Hampton and Historic Triangle campuses.) The naming of the first 40 Legacy Scholars will coincide with the system’s 40th anniversary, according to VCCS Chancellor Glenn DuBois.
