Thomas Nelson Community College has added a new certificate program to its offerings. Designed to broaden students’ career opportunities in government and/or nonprofit organizations, the Public Management Certificate Program provides an introduction to theory, skills and principles underlying public administration in federal, state and local government organizations.
According to Dr. William Travis, former Dean of Business and Public Services at Thomas Nelson now Historic Triangle campus Provost, the new certificate program is primarily for people currently working in public administration “who are looking for academic credentials in concentrated areas so that they can qualify for promotions and/or advance in their careers.” The courses in the Public Management Certificate Program are included in the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Public Administration, he added.
