Thomas Nelson Community College (TNCC) Mechanical Engineering student Trevor Jackson enhanced his classroom studies with hands-on experience during NASA’s National Community College Aerospace Scholars program October 20-22 at Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. Jackson was among 90 students chosen from community colleges in 23 states to participate in the pilot program. The students were chosen based on their performance in a NASA web-based summer program that explored topics in engineering and technology.
“I’ve always had an interest in performance mechanical engineering, mostly automotive, but really an interest in anything mechanical that is top of the line. … Because of the size and prestige of NASA, engineers are given a huge amount of resources,” Jackson said.
