Thomas Nelson Community College (TNCC) has been listed among G.I. Jobs magazine’s Military-Friendly Schools for 2013. The list recognizes the top 15 percent of colleges, universities, community colleges and trade schools nationwide that deliver the best experience for military students. G.I. Jobs provides service members and veterans with information about education, transition assistance and job opportunities.
“With this recognition, TNCC honors our rich tradition in serving the military,” said TNCC President John Dever. “It is a tradition that began with our namesake, Thomas Nelson, Jr., who was a merchant, a signer of the declaration, a colonial governor, and a militiaman who also provided his time and his wealth to finance George Washington’s army in the Revolutionary War, providing food, blankets, and clothing for the military.”
