Thomas Nelson Community College (TNCC) campuses in Hampton and the Historic Triangle in Williamsburg will be closed to the public 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 6. TNCC personnel will be engaged in a series of workshops and training sessions on the Hampton campus. Services including registration, fee and tuition payment for TNCC’s second eight-week class session will be available online at www.tncc.edu.
Bookstores on both campuses will be open. TNCC’s Workforce Development sections will operate as follows:
- Workforce Training and Continuing Education will be closed as students will be on spring break;
- Workforce Transition and Career Services in Hampton and Williamsburg will conduct Middle College and Plugged-in classes;
- The Business Development and Corporate Training division in Hampton will be open;
- Rapid Response services will be provided on an as-needed basis;
- The Manufacturing Excellence Center in Hampton will be open;
- The Discovery Center in Williamsburg will be open.
The College will reopen at 8 a.m. on Thursday, March 7. All classes begin Monday, March 11.

The Learning Resources Center at Thomas Nelson Community College’s (TNCC) Historic Triangle campus offers educational drop-in sessions every Wednesday this spring semester. Called “Activity Period at the Library,” the hour-long sessions begin at 12:30 p.m. and take place in Room 100. The Historic Triangle campus is located at 4601 Opportunity Way in Williamsburg.
Conducted by Learning Resources staff members, the sessions give students one-on-one help with specific topics each week. Topics will include research paper and citation writing, Blackboard, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc…), Microsoft Works and Google Docs.

Guest Speakers from Across the Region Featured
A new initiative called M.A.N. Up (Motivated to Achieve your Needs) that aims to help male students at Thomas Nelson Community College succeed launches a series of spring semester workshops beginning this month. Featuring presenters and speakers from across Hampton Roads, the series of 10 workshops begins Thursday, Feb. 26.
Rev. Kevin Swann, pastor of Newport News-based Ivy Baptist Church brings his presentation — “Why YOU need to MAN Up” — to the College’s Hampton campus that day from 12 to 1:15 p.m. in Hasting Hall, room 324. Swann will focus on the M.A.N. Up program’s purpose.
