Thomas Nelson Community College to Begin New 8-Week Accelerated Session October 18, 2005

New and returning students at Thomas Nelson Community College still have the opportunity to start or continue their education this fall. A new 8 week accelerated session starts at TNCC on Tuesday, October 18, 2005. The new accelerated 8 week session comprises over 40 courses that will be offered in the Hampton and the Historic Triangle campus and include traditional day and evening classes as well as online classes. Students can register now online at or in person during the following times: Monday – Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Fridays from 8 to 4 p.m. All services needed for registration will be available during those times at both the Hampton and Historic Triangle campus.

New students can also apply for admission by filling out an interactive online application available on the TNCC website at The application can be submitted electronically to the TNCC Admissions Office. Continuing students can also register and pay online 24 hours a day by using NelsonOnLine, the TNCC student information system. Students from the Gulf Coast area colleges and universities who were not able to start classes when the regular fall semester session started are encouraged to sign up for these classes.

The following classes start October 18: Principles of Economics, History of Western Civilization, Keyboarding for Computer Usage, Specialized Software Applications, Web Page Design I, Introduction to Information Systems, Wan Technologies – CISCO, Basic Computer Literacy, Software Design, Computer Science II, Engineering Drawing Fundamentals, Advanced Technical Drafting, Parametric Solid Modeling, Computer Numerical Control I, College Composition I, History & Appreciation of Art I, Ethics, Beginning Spanish I, Principles of Public Speaking, Communications, Nursing Process and Care Planning, Elementary Statistics, Pre-calculus I, Algebra I, Algebra II, United States History I, Bowling I, Sports Appreciation, Introduction to Psychology I, College Success Skills.
