Thomas Nelson Statement Concerning Tragic Events at Virginia Tech

Thomas Nelson Community College expresses sympathy to those affected by the tragic events that occurred at the Virginia Tech campus Monday, April 16, 2007.

Thomas Nelson Community College’s Student Development Offices would like to remind the campus community that counseling is available for anyone – faculty, staff, and students who may need assistance following these events. Please call the Office of Student Development-Hampton Campus at 825- 2827 or the Historic Triangle Campus at 253-4755, if counseling services are needed.

In response to the ordeal, Campus Police has offered to provide short and long term law enforcement services to express the College’s willingness to assist the Virginia Tech community. Campus Police is also communicating with local and state agencies with regard to emergency preparedness.

Additionally, the College administration is reaching out to Virginia Tech’s Administrative Services to offer resources and provide assistance as necessary.

As other pertinent information becomes available, the administration will keep the Thomas Nelson family informed.
