TNCC Libraries Offering Free Tickets to Oct. 27 Book Signing by Bestselling Author Catherine Coulter

Thomas Nelson Community College (TNCC) libraries at the Hampton and Historic Triangle campuses are among locations providing free tickets to an October 27 book signing by New York Times bestselling author Catherine Coulter. Sponsored by the Virginia Peninsula Literary Consortium (VPLC) of which TNCC is a member, the event takes place at 7 p.m. at Christopher Newport University’s Ferguson Center for the Arts.

The free tickets will be available at VPLC-member libraries including the public libraries of Newport News, Hampton, Poquoson and York County and the academic libraries of Christopher Newport University and Hampton University.

Tickets will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis and are limited to two per person while supplies last. VPLC advises early arrival at the event as open seating at is limited. Ticketholders will be seated first. Any remaining seats will then be open to the general public.

Coulter has written 66 novels, including 60 New York Times bestsellers. She earned her reputation writing historical romances and added suspense thrillers to her repertoire more than 10 years ago.

“The Cove,” the first book in her bestselling “FBI Suspense Thriller Series” spent nine weeks on the New York Times list and has sold 2 million copies to date. A resident of the Marin County, California, she has since written 15 more bestselling thrillers in the series.

The Texas native is a graduate of both the University of Texas and Boston College. She became a speechwriter on Wall Street, before quitting her day job to become a full-time writer.

This marks VPLC’s fifth free event of this kind as it has presented best-selling authors Amy Tan in 2007, Walter Mosley in 2008, David Baldacci in 2009 and Orson Scott Card in 2010. The Consortium formed in 2006 to encourage the study and enjoyment of books and to foster cooperation among all types of libraries on the Peninsula.
