TNCC Offers Easy Options for Bookstore Purchases for Financial Aid Recipients

Students who have anticipated aid in excess of paying their tuition and fees have three ways to purchase their books and supplies up to $650, for the upcoming spring semester:

Option 1: Beginning Monday, December 27, 2010, students may rent selected textbooks and use your financial aid for your rental purchases. Textbook rental affords students savings of up to 50 percent. Visit www.rent-a-text.com for more information about this innovative program. You will need a valid credit card to secure the return and/or damages to books that are rented.

Option 2: Beginning Monday, December 27, 2010, students may order books and supplies online through the TNCC bookstore and use financial aid funds to make those purchases. Students may also order new or used books and pick up their purchases, or have items shipped to them. Shipping charges of up to $19.99 will be deducted from their financial aid. Option 3: Students can still go to the bookstore in January to purchase your books and supplies. The dates for this option are:

  • Nursing/Dental Hygiene January 3
  • Last Name A-G January 4
  • Last Name H-N January 5
  • Last Name O-U January 6
  • Last Name V-Z January 7
  • Open to All January 8–25

From January 3-28, Hampton campus bookstore hours are 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Hampton campus bookstore will also be open on Saturdays, January 8-15, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00.

From January 3-28, the hours of operation for the Historic Triangle campus bookstore are 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Note: All bookstore charges for 16-week session, first eight-week session, second eight-week session, first five-week session, second five-week m third five-week session, and dynamic-dated sessions must occur during the charge dates listed above. These dates are the only times that students may charge books with financial aid, regardless of when their classes begin.

My classes start August 20th. When can I come and buy my books? Is it August 17th?
